Context

When the project requires more than 300 tons

Most crane rental companies in Venezuela operate up to 200 or 300 tons. When a project demands a turbogenerator lift, a distillation column or a complete rig move, options narrow to a handful of providers. Special Truck is one of them.

Owned heavy lift fleet

Real availability without international subcontracting dependency. Heavy capacity telescopic cranes ready for nationwide mobilization.

Engineering included

Structural calculations, soil bearing studies, wind analysis, full rigging plan. Technical deliverables that end-client HSE accepts without rework.

Tandem multi-crane

When the piece exceeds single-unit capacity, we coordinate synchronized tandem operations with dedicated rigging supervision and approved procedures.

Typical operations

What gets lifted with 300–800 T equipment

Rig moves (integral)

Complete disassembly, transport and reassembly of drilling rigs. Multi-crane coordination, heavy transport and escorted road permits under a single contract.

Turbogenerator installation

Power generation units in thermoelectric plants and industrial cogeneration facilities. Full soil study and coordination with commissioning team.

Refinery columns and reactors

Distillation columns, catalytic reactors and major vessels in refineries and petrochemical complexes. Millimeter-precise vertical maneuvering.

Critical industrial structures

Industrial bridge cranes, major steel structures, plant expansion frames and large-scale mechanical installations.

Planning process

How a 500+ ton lift is planned

A heavy lift isn’t improvised. Every maneuver follows a protocol that guarantees safety, timeline and predictability.

Step 1 · Technical assessment

On-site inspection and data collection

Physical inspection of access routes, operating radii, soil bearing capacity, live electrical line distances, adjacent structure height limitations and historical wind analysis.

Step 2 · Engineering

Certified lift plan and technical deliverable

Net and gross load calculation, equipment selection and optimal configuration (counterweights, attachments, jib), operation diagram, soil study, JSA and detailed step-by-step procedure.

Step 3 · Mobilization

Fleet and accessories transport

Logistics coordination of trucks, lowboys for counterweights, convoy escort when applicable, and road permits. Average mobilization in 18 hours from project confirmation for domestic locations.

Step 4 · Execution

Operation with certified operators

Level II rigger or above leading the maneuver. Pre-lift meeting with all involved. Dedicated radio communication. Automatic stops if wind exceeds range or any plan deviation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from project teams

What’s the maximum single-crane capacity?

Up to 800 tons in a single telescopic crane. For lifts exceeding that, we coordinate tandem operations with secondary cranes under specialized lift planning, reaching combined capacities of several thousand tons.

How much does a 500 or 800 ton lift cost?

Heavy lift projects (400 T+) are quoted individually because each operation involves specific factors: counterweight mobilization, soil study, duration, accessibility and site conditions. After site visit we deliver firm proposal within 24 hours with price guaranteed for 30 days.

Does it include operator and lift plan?

Yes. Every heavy lift contract includes a certified operator and an engineering lift plan with structural calculations, soil study, JSA and step-by-step procedure — ready for direct HSE approval.

How long does heavy lift mobilization take?

18 to 72 hours depending on distance and capacity. 500 T+ cranes require more logistics: road escorts, lowboys for counterweights, specialized permits. All coordination managed by us without additional coordination fees.

Do you perform tandem lifts with two or more cranes?

Yes. When the piece exceeds individual crane capacity, we design tandem operations with synchronized movement and dedicated communication. The lift plan specifies load sharing, movement sequence and safe stop points.

Do you meet international corporate HSE standards?

Yes. Our documentation and procedures meet international corporate audit requirements. We regularly work with major oil & gas operators and international EPC contractors, all with rigorous HSE frameworks.

Have a large-scale project in Venezuela?

Free technical site visit, engineering lift plan within 24 hours and price guaranteed for 30 days. Heavy lift experience across Venezuelan refineries, power plants and oil fields.
